Heather Ots is training at OTS Sunrise Farm for the 2010 North American Junior Young Rider Championships. These championships are taking place at the end of the month.  In 2009 Heather and her horse Varekai won the Bronze Freestyle Medal.

The NAJYRC is the premier equestrian competition in North America for junior and young riders, age 14-21. Young equestrians come from the United States, Bermuda, Canada, Mexico, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean Islands to vie for team and individual FEI medals in the three Olympic equestrian disciplines of show jumping, dressage, eventing and the World Equestrian Games discipline of reining. The competition is run under rules of the FEI (Federation Equestre Internationale), the international governing body for equestrian sport, and is the only FEI championship held annually in this country. Many of North America’s best equestrians who now regularly represent their country on Olympic, World Championship and Nations Cup teams got their first taste of International experience at NAJYRC. These include Olympic medallists Greg Best, Karen O'Connor, Chris Kappler,McLain Ward, and Courtney King.

Heather has qualified for the Championships with an undefeated show season in 2010, and currently is ranked 1st on her Region 2 team.

Following the NAJYRC  Heather will be competing at the 2010 Collecting Gaits Farm / USEF Dressage Festival of Champions in Gladstone New Jersey. She is currently ranked in the top 5 heading into the championships.
